Anel Berning: Generative AI is Transforming Healthcare – Here’s How to Use It Effectively
Anel Berning, Business Strategy and Operations Manager North East Central Europe Region at Bayer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Have you noticed how Generative AI is changing the landscape of healthcare? Imagine being able to quickly create patient education materials, summarize complex articles, or assist in diagnoses—all with just a few prompts!
To get the most out of this technology, here are some quick tips:
- Be Specific: Instead of asking, “What is diabetes?”, try “Can you provide a detailed overview of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including symptoms and treatment options?”
- Provide Context: The more context you give, the better the AI can assist. If it’s about a specific case, include relevant details!
- Set a Tone or Role: Specify a role for the AI. For example, say, “Act as a medical professional and explain this condition to a patient.” This leads to more relatable responses.
- Define Structure: Let the AI know how you want the information organized. Do you prefer bullet points or a detailed report?
Let’s embrace this technology together and transform healthcare for the better.”
Akash Maniam, Medical Oncologist at University Hospitals Portsmouth NHS Trust, shared post by Anel Berning, adding:
“If we want to leverage generative AI properly, we need to remember two things –
- It isn’t a textbook. It is only as good as the inputs we give and the data it trained on.
- Be specific with your prompts – context matters.
Try asking the same thing in different ways and see what outputs you get. That’s how you can refine your inputs.”
