Andreas Charalambous: Excited to Join CA25137 Project on Nurse Prescribing Policies and Education

Andreas Charalambous, Chair Department of Nursing at Cyprus University of Technology, shared on LinkedIn:

“New Project Launch in Brussels

Excited to participate in the launch of the project CA25137 – Nurse Prescribing Policies and Education: Collaborative European Initiatives for alignment and impact (ALIGN-NP) as part of the management committee.

ALIGN-NP brings together experts to advance a European, data-informed and unified strategy for nurse prescribing (NP) through:

  1. developing a data strategy for the sustainable monitoring of NP;
  2. mapping current European NP practices, policies and education; and
  3. building consensus and establishing impactful, bottom-up activities, including a repository of digital tools to support NP, European guidance on NP, a white paper, and a European train-the-trainer programme.

ALIGN-NP will enable Europe to learn from the diversity of NP models, generate evidence to improve NP practices, education and policies, and support the development and implementation of new approaches.

Through a strategic network involving local key informants, information on NP policies, education, digital tools and available data sources will be brought together and systematically analysed. Training schools, workshops, international mobility and networking meetings will facilitate research coordination, knowledge exchange and capacity building. Additional data will be collected, with particular attention to patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experience measures (PREMs).

A core outcome set and a common data framework for NP research will be developed. Cost-effectiveness will be considered as a key dimension throughout the Action, supporting the development of sustainable and impactful approaches to NP across Europe.”
