“Updated global rankings of top scientists for 2024
Proud to say that for another year made it to the global list of top scientists! Not an easy achievement as it required commitment, devotion and sacrifices along the way. But the outcome compensates largely for these.
The updated ‘Science-wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators’, incorporating data through the end of 2024, were recently published. These lists include the top scientists and researchers worldwide across all scientific disciplines, as well as the top 2% of researchers within each scientific subfield, provided they have published at least five peer-reviewed articles.
Compiled by Protessor John P.A. loannidis and his team at Stanford University (USA), the rankings are based on data from the Scopus database.
Researchers included in the lists were selected based on a range of objective criteria, such as the impact of their work measured by citations from other scientists, journal impact factors, the number of articles published as first author, single-author publications, and more. The lists are updated annually and assess the global research performance of academics, evaluating their scientific output and citation impact across 22 main scientific fields and 174 subfields.”
