“To my utter surprise, I was contacted a few weeks ago that Chancellor Agrawal of The University of Missouri-Kansas City wanted to chat with me.
Little did I know, it was about this! I am beyond floored and so honored to be named the Alumna of the Year!
I still do not know who nominated me, but I do know it’s a highly competitive process, and the fact that I am only the third physician chosen from The UMKC School of Medicine for this university-wide award and first female physician fills me with gratitude and humility beyond words.
I am SO PROUD to represent our beloved School of Medicine! I look forward to accepting this award in April 2026 and meeting the incredible recipients of the other prestigious awards.
