“It was a great Kansas City Chiefs win and celebration of the National Football League (NFL) Crucial Catch campaign in collaboration with The American Cancer Society and The University of Kansas Cancer Center. The Crucial Catch initiative not only focuses on screening and early detection, but also places an emphasis on the unequal burden of cancer in under-resourced communities.
Since 2009, the initiative has raised more than $35 million, and has certainly benefited patients in our region to ensure access to lifesaving screenings. To see the community come together in this capacity as a physician who sees cancer every day made my heart full and truly demonstrates how it takes all of us in the fight against cancer!”
