“It has been a while since I have shared one of these Oncoflash resources. But I have some issues with this one, and I think it’s a great discussion opportunity. First, it says that OS (living longer) matters most to patients. I think this statement fails to take into account quality of life. OS at what cost?
It additionally suggests that a treatment’s true benefit is only if patients live longer. I have worked in advocacy long enough to know that there is a difference between statistics and patients’ lived experience. Having good quality of life is also a very important part of the equation.
