American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Moments ago, Congress passed the most impactful cancer-fighting bill in years. It happened thanks to cancer advocates like you who refused to back down!
Together, you sent more than 120,000 messages, made phone calls, and took to social media to urge lawmakers to reject cuts and invest in cancer research.
By passing this bill, Congress has:
- Increased funding for cancer research.
- Expanded cancer prevention and screening programs.
- Laid the groundwork for Medicare to cover cutting-edge multi-cancer early detection screenings once FDA approved and clinical benefit is shown.
- Strengthened programs focused on childhood cancer.
Your advocacy made a difference. This bill becoming law means more people can be screened for cancer earlier, get treatment sooner, and have a better chance to survive and thrive.
Thank you for everything you do.”
