“Following the Amgen Patient Advocacy Summit, I was able to catch up with Jessica Alcantar, Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer’s Manager of Events and Programs. She drove a couple of hours to meet me (thank you LA traffic!) but I so appreciate her doing so. In-person trumps virtual every time!
I travel a lot, but what makes the travel worthwhile (for me and for the organization I represent) is the ability to spend quality time in-person with staff, volunteers, patients, researchers, donors and peers.
Technology is wonderful, but it’ll never replace the power (and efficiency!) of interacting in-person.”
