“I return from International Society of Pediatric Oncology – SIOP 2026 in San Antonio, Texas deeply grateful, inspired, and with a renewed sense of responsibility.
Participating as an invited speaker and bringing the experience, progress, and challenges of our region to an international audience was both a privilege and an important milestone in my professional journey.

One of the most meaningful moments was reconnecting with my mentors from Neuro-Oncology Fellowship (VPNOF), including Ibrahim Qaddoumi, Eric Bouffet, Dhall Girish, Mauricio Muñoz. Their guidance has profoundly shaped my development as a pediatric neuro-oncologist.
It was equally inspiring to see a new generation joining this extraordinary global community.

SIOP also provided the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from different countries and initiate conversations that can evolve into multicenter research, international training, and collaborative care models with a tangible impact on children and adolescents with cancer.
After ten years of helping build multidisciplinary models of care in Mexico, generating evidence in pediatric brain tumors, and advancing survivorship initiatives, I am convinced that Latin America brings essential knowledge, clinical experience, and innovative solutions to global pediatric oncology.
The next goal is clear: to transform international connections into sustainable collaborations that generate evidence, strengthen professional training, and expand access to high-quality care – particularly in pediatric neuro-oncology, survivorship, and resource-limited settings.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate with institutions, research groups, and professionals who share this vision.
