Alique Topalian: Presentation at Illuminas’s Global Commercial Teams Meeting About Life After Cancer

Alique Topalian, Research Scientist of Survivorship and Supportive Services at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I had the privilege of providing the keynote presentation at Illumina’s global commercial teams meeting about Reclaiming Meaning: Life After Cancer. This talk weaved together survivorship, precision oncology, and the deep purpose behind the work that drives genomic medicine forward.

I spoke about my own cancer journey – the uncertainty, the waiting, the science that ultimately guided my care and how the work happening inside this industry transforms more than outcomes. It transforms lives, timelines, and possibilities.

What struck me most was the energy in the room: a team of people who don’t just sell technology, but who accelerate access, expand understanding, and create clarity for families who need answers.

Genomics isn’t just shaping the future of medicine, it’s shaping the future of meaning.
And I’m grateful to have shared that stage, that story, and that message.

Thank you to everyone at Illumina for the work you do every day and the opportunity to share my story with you all at GCM 2026. I appreciated the time to speak with Illumina team members and leadership from across the world. I am especially thankful to Cody Barnett who made this opportunity possible!”
