Alique Topalian: CancerCon 2025 Opening Keynote
Alique Topalian, Research Scientist- Survivorship and Supportive Services at University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Four years ago cancercon changed my life. It was the first professional conference I ever spoke at and truly launched my career in the cancer space. It was also the first time I met many of my cancerbesties.
Today I achieved one of my dreams and was the keynote speaker for the CancerCon2025 opening session. This session highlighted the importance of finding friends in the adolescent young adult cancer community, the impact loneliness can have on your health, and the power of connection.
After my talk I led a panel discussion about the highs and lows of AYA friendship. We discussed how cancer changes your relationship with your peers who haven’t had a cancer diagnosis and how hard it is to lose so many people we love at our age. I am so thankful for Stupid Cancer for this opportunity and for the incredible community they have built.”
