Alexandre Chan, President Elect of The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), Associate Editor-in-Chief at Supportive Care in Cancer, Founding Chair and Professor of Clinical Pharmacy Practice at UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“MASCC26 in Melbourne has officially come to a close – thank you for being part of such a vibrant meeting!
I loved walking around, seeing so many friendly faces, and hearing the wonderful praise for both the meeting and our organization. We truly deserve the title of the friendliest cancer care society in the world !
I hope you all learned a great deal and enjoyed the networking, interactions, and conversations along the way. Congratulations as well to all our awardees and honorees!
As President, it’s my honor to work closely with our newly elected MASCC Board of Directors (and Executive Committee) over the next two years to bring our organization to new heights-with the steadfast support of our Study Group and Committees behind us.
If you missed my remarks at the Opening and Closing ceremonies, I’m sharing a short snippet here on where we’re headed. I genuinely welcome your suggestions and comments-please reach out to me directly.
We also need your help to grow MASCC by championing our organization at your institution. Remember: if we each invite just one colleague to join, we’ll double our membership.
Finally, my heartfelt thanks to the MASCC team, the MASCC office, and our Scientific Chair, Joanne Bowen, for putting together such a wonderful conference-and to the local organizing committee for a fantastic Presidential Reception!
Before I sign off, always remember: Supportive Care Makes Excellent Cancer Care Possible. Let’s start planning to meet in Rotterdam in 2027.”
