Alejandra Mendez: Happy to Share That My Article Has Been Published in SVOA Paediatrics

Alejandra Mendez, Vice President of Childhood Cancer International, shared on LinkedIn:

”I am very happy to share that my article, ‘The Silent Grief of Parents of Childhood Cancer Survivors,’ has been published in SVOA Paediatrics, a journal of SCIENCEVOLKS.

Cancer does not end when treatment ends.
This is a deeply personal reflection, shaped by my own experience as the mother of a childhood cancer survivor and by the many years I have spent alongside other families who have walked this same path.

Through this article, I hope to help make visible the emotional wounds that often remain hidden and to remind us that survivorship should not be measured only in years of life, but also in the well-being and quality of life of survivors and their families.

Recognizing this grief, listening without judgment, and providing psychosocial support are essential steps toward truly supporting families after cancer.

My heartfelt thanks to all the families whose trust, honesty, and experiences have helped me better understand this reality.
