Cancer staging helps doctors understand a tumor’s size, location, and whether it has spread, helping guide treatment decisions, prognosis, and potential clinical trial options. The common TNM system looks at the tumor (T), lymph nodes (N), and metastasis (M).
But a cancer stage is only one part of an individual diagnosis.
Even people with the same type and stage of cancer can have different health circumstances, treatments, and outcomes.
