Asian Fund for Cancer Research Limited – AFCR shared a post on LinkedIn:
“BIOHK2026 will be held from 9–12 September 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, providing a platform for exchange and collaboration across biotechnology, healthcare, and the life sciences. Asian Fund for Cancer Research Limited (AFCR) is honored to serve as a supporting organization for this year’s conference.
At AFCR’s Symposium on Cancer Research and Drug Development at BIOHK2023, Professor Ava Kwong, whose research was previously supported by AFCR, shared how hereditary breast cancer research is being integrated into clinical practice in Hong Kong. Genetic testing can help assess individual and family cancer risk, inform surveillance and prevention strategies, and help guide more targeted treatment decisions for some patients.
Professor Kwong also introduced the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry and discussed how multigene testing and sequencing technologies are helping identify more genetic variants associated with cancer risk.
