Evis Sala: Signing New Albania–WHO Cooperation to Advance Universal Health Coverage and System Reform

Evis Sala, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Albania, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In Copenhagen, at the WHO Regional Office for Europe, I presented Albania’s vision for a modern, sustainable, and European-aligned health system.

Together with Hans Kluge, we signed a new two-year cooperation agreement with the World Health Organization to strengthen universal health coverage, emergency preparedness, resilient communities.

Albania is advancing key reforms: restructuring hospital financing through the DRG model, improving oncology services with a National Tumor Institute and Oncology Network, accelerating digital transformation including AI integration.

Furthermore, we proposed a European initiative to combat digital violence against women and girls.

Our objective remains clear: quality, equitable, and future-ready healthcare for every citizen.”
