Emmanuella-Faith Amoako: Building a Dedicated Paediatric Oncology Unit in Cape Coast

Emmanuella-Faith Amoako, Paediatric Oncologist at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and Director of Clinical Affairs at Yemaachi Biotechnology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

What made us believe we could build a Paediatric Oncology Unit in Cape Coast?
Because children with cancer in the Central, Western, and Western North Regions of Ghana deserve care closer to home.

This 3D animation shows our vision for a dedicated Paediatric Oncology Unit at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital; a safe, child-friendly space where children can receive cancer treatment without travelling long distances to Accra or Kumasi; up to 9 hours sometimes.

For too many families, distance means:

  • delayed treatment
  • financial hardship
  • treatment abandonment
    This unit will change that.

It will save lives. It will keep families together. It will bring cancer care closer to where children live.

We have the land. We have the team. We have the vision.

Now we need you. No amount is too small- Trust me!
Donate to the link.”
