Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Since the 1980s, there has been a 40% reduction in breast cancer mortality in high-income countries. This has yet to be achieved in the majority of low – and middle – income (LMICs) countries.
Breast cancer deaths still disproportionately affect individuals in LMICs due to:
- Limited access to healthcare
- Delays in diagnosis and treatment
- Lack of effective early detection programmes
- Insufficient funding for medicines and infrastructure
These barriers prevent women from seeking lifesaving treatments during the early stages of breast cancer.
Closing this gap is urgent. Every woman, and everyone, everywhere, deserves the chance of early detection and lifesaving treatment.
Find out more.”
