This week, Governor Pritzker issued an Executive Order to protect access to vaccines across our state. This step ensures that science and evidence remain at the center of public health decisions as we enter another respiratory virus season.
Vaccines don’t just protect individuals — they protect families, colleagues, patients, and the most vulnerable members of our communities. When more people are vaccinated, we see fewer hospitalizations, complications, and deaths. The science is clear: vaccines save lives.
I’m grateful for leadership that prioritizes evidence and public health. But viruses don’t stop at state borders. We travel, we visit family, and we cross state lines every day — and illness travels with us. That’s why it’s critical for other states to follow suit and ensure vaccine access for all.
This is what leadership rooted in science looks like — and it’s how we keep our communities strong and healthy.”
