Aaron Sverdlov: Hosting Dr. Alex Lyon for Cardio-Oncology Talks in Newcastle
Aaron Sverdlov, Professor and Director of Heart Failure at Newcastle University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It was an absolute pleasure to host Dr Alex Lyon, one of the world’s gurus in CardioOncology Newcastle. Three days of amazing talks, focused on improving cardiovascular health of people living with and beyond cancer. Covering a range of solid and haematological malignancy’s and the differential and personalised approaches to cardiovascular care for our patients. Great interest from cardiovascular and cancer clinicians across Newcastle, all striving to improve outcomes for our patients.
It was also fantastic to have a chance for informal discussion with Alex about the current results, discoveries and future directions for our Newcastle Centre of Excellence in Cardio-Oncology, co-led by Doan Ngo. Lots of ideas and exciting opportunities for the future, across basic, translational and clinical research as well as ways to enhance our care delivery!
And of course, no visit to Newcastle is complete without a trip to magnificent Hunter Valley: and especially for Alex – a stop by the aptly named Leogate Estate Wines!
