“Dr. Crystal Mackall outlines a new approach to advancing cell and gene therapies for children, proposing the creation of a new entity, the Pediatric Advanced Medicines Biotech, to lead late-stage development and commercialize pediatric CGTs outside the traditional biopharmaceutical model in the United States—where organized efforts to solve this problem have been lacking.
Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy has recently supported several important research grants in pediatric cancers and agree with Dr. Mackall that building new paths through the clinic and to patients is critical to making the potential of cell and gene therapy a reality for young patients who have their whole lives in front of them.” .
