The retirement of Baroness Delyth Morgan as Chief Executive from Breast Cancer Now
The Institute of Cancer Research shared on LinkedIn:
“We’re marking the retirement of Baroness Delyth Morgan as Chief Executive of our charity funding partner Breast Cancer Now.
We asked the Director and Deputy Director of the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the ICR to share their reflections on Delyth’s contributions to the breast cancer community over the past three decades.
Andrew Tutt, Director of the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the ICR, said:
‘Delyth has been a visionary leader in breast cancer for 30 years.
She has been a huge advocate for research and its ability to improve our understanding of how breast cancer arises and how to improve the care and survivorship of those affected.
We wouldn’t have the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre and Breast Cancer Now Generations Study here at the ICR if it weren’t for Delyth’s vision, passion and drive.
It has been a privilege to witness much of that 30 years and I will greatly miss working with Delyth as she retires from her chief executive role at Breast Cancer Now.
I am, however, confident that she will continue to be a powerful advocate for the breast cancer community in whatever comes next. I wish her all the best for the future.’
Chris Lord, Deputy Director of the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the ICR, said:
‘There’s been tremendous progress in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment over the past 30 years and Delyth has played a major role by leading charities that have provided vital funding for advances made here and across the UK.
Sustained funding is key to sustained research success and everyone working in the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre is grateful for the support we’ve received, under Delyth’s leadership, from Breast Cancer Now and its predecessor charities since we opened at the ICR in 1999.
We have fantastic foundations to build on as we work to make more breast cancer discoveries in the coming years.’
From everyone at the ICR, we wish Delyth all the best for her retirement!”
