Olubukola Ayodele: We plan to build on the visions developed during this minilab in the ideation lab in January 2024.
Quoting Olubukola Ayodele, Consultant Medical Oncologist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, on LinkedIn:
“Cancer health disparities (CHD) result from a complicated interplay of factors across a variety of levels.
While researchers have made great progress in understanding and proposing solutions, disparities persist across the cancer continuum.
I was opportuned to join the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as we held three dynamic virtual workshops that were designed to be intense, interactive, free-thinking and involving a broad range of individuals across disciplines.
There was brainstorming with perspectives from broad sectors in society, including academia, industry, government, non-profit, cancer survivors and patient advocates.
We plan to build on the visions developed during this minilab in the ideation lab in January 2024.
We need to envision a more trans-disciplinary future of CHD research and accelerate progress towards cancer health equity for all populations, both locally and globally.”
