IASLC Congratulates Chelisa Cardinez on 2025 Early Career Grant Award
International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) shared on LinkedIn:
”Congrats to Dr. Chelisa Cardinez, Cancer Immunologist and Postdoctoral at the John Curtin School of Medical Research! One of our 2025 Early Career Grant Awardees!
Their project, Targeting Phagocytosis Regulators to Enhance Anti-Tumor Immunity in Small Cell Lung Cancer, has the potential to uncover entirely new strategies for treating small cell lung cancer by enhancing the body’s own immune response. If successful, their work could not only improve treatment for SCLC patients but also apply to other forms of lung cancer and solid tumours that use similar tactics to escape the immune system.
We’re excited to see where this research leads, way to go, Dr. Cardinez!”
