“Are you an early-career investigator or trainee with an interest in childhood cancer survivorship? Applications for the 2024 Childhood Cancer Survivor Study Career Development Award are closing soon! Apply by October 2, 2023, to explore scientific opportunities while conducting research within the field.
Applicants chosen will gain knowledge about the long-term effects of cancer and the results of their work may inform future treatment protocols and intervention strategies to increase survival and minimize adverse health outcomes.
“ The CCSS award helped to launch my research,” shared Nicole Alberts, PhD, who was a research associate in the St. Jude Department of Psychology in 2018.
The CCSS Career Development Award was the first grant she received as a faculty member. “I arrived at St. Jude with a lot of ideas. Thanks to the grant, I was able to work with a team of mentors to develop those ideas and then focus on the prevalence and risk factors for chronic pain,” said Alberts.
Today she is an associate professor at Concordia University in Montreal. Learn more about the CCSS and view the application.”
