Joshua Omale: On this World No Tobacco Day, let’s renew our commitment to protecting our youth
Joshua Omale shared on LinkedIn:
“Today is World No Tobacco Day, a reminder of the millions of young lives at risk due to tobacco use. As a passionate advocate for youth health, I’m deeply troubled by the World Health Organization’s statistic: 37 million youths aged 13-15 are tobacco users globally. .
In my journey as a childhood and youth cancer advocate, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating toll of tobacco on young lives. Each puff of smoke represents a potential cancer diagnosis, robbing our future generation of their health and vitality.
But amidst the challenges, there’s hope. We can empower young people to reject tobacco and embrace healthier choices. Through education, awareness, and tireless advocacy, we can create a world where tobacco has no place in our children’s lives.
On this World No Tobacco Day, let’s renew our commitment to protecting our youths from the harms of tobacco. Let’s stand together and say NO to tobacco (in all forms) and YES to a healthier future for our children and youths. Together, we can make a difference. ”
