Anne Sophie Kubasch: The preliminary program for our upcoming event ‘Shaping the Future of Medicine 2024′
Anne Sophie Kubasch, Specialist Physician for Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology at University Leipzig, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We are pleased to announce that after confirming our speakers and panelists, we can now reveal the preliminary program for our upcoming event, ‘Shaping the Future of Medicine (STFOM) 2024’ which will take place on September 24-25, 2024 at the Pittlerwerke Leipzig.
As in previous years, this event is organized in close collaboration between the Department of Hematology, Cellular Therapy, Hemostaseology, and Infectiology at University Hospital Leipzig (Uwe Platzbecker) and the ICCAS – Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (Thomas Neumuth).
On the first STFOM day, junior researchers and physicians will present their own projects in the area of digital innovations in cancer medicine. The goal is to facilitate exchange among young research groups, fostering synergies and collaborations. We will also explore the new aspirations and needs of Generation Y and Z, discussing career and family balance, and the various perspectives offered by the medical profession today, including opportunities in hospitals and outpatient clinics, startups, business, pharma, and research. We have invited young doctors, foundations, and initiators of clinician scientist programs to discuss the future connection between research and patient care, recognizing the critical importance of these programs also for the new generation of physicians and junior researchers.
The second day of STFOM will begin with a keynote by Eyal Zimlichman, on ‘Building the Future of Health – The ARC Innovation Journey,’ followed by a discussion on international perspectives.
This year’s STFOM highlight will be the keynote ‘How Large Language Models Will Help to Transform Cancer Care in the Future’ by Vivek Natarajan from Google, who will be on site in Leipzig to provide deep insights into the latest developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) that could revolutionize diagnostics and patient communication in cancer medicine.
After our final panel discussion on how we can achieve the digital transformation in Germany, presentations of successful digital health projects and clinical applications in academic centers in Saxony (University Hospital Leipzig and Dresden) will close the program.
Join us for this inspiring event and be a part of STFOM 2024.
