Story of Louise-Hélène participating in a Canadian Cancer Society funded clinical trial
Canadian Cancer Society shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In September 2021, Louise-Hélène Giroux found out she had stage 4 skin cancer after experiencing pain in her collarbone. She was told she would only live a few months if her tumour did not respond to treatment.
She participated in a Canadian Cancer Society-funded clinical trial which uses a fecal transplant to improve the effectiveness of treatments for advanced melanoma.
“I am so grateful to the Canadian Cancer Society and to its donors and partners for funding research projects like the one that saved my life,” says Louise-Hélène.
