Humaid Al-Shamsi: The UAE cancer community suffered a great loss last week with the passing of Dr. Zulfaqar Jaffar.
Humaid Al-Shamsi, the Director of Burjeel Cancer Institute ( BCI ), shared on LinkedIn:
“The UAE cancer community suffered a great loss last week with the passing of Dr. Zulfaqar Jaffar, one of the most esteemed oncologists and a beloved colleague and friend to all. Dr. Zulfaqar was widely regarded as one of the best oncologists in the UAE cancer community. His expertise, dedication, and compassion made him an invaluable asset to both his patients and colleagues. He had a deep understanding of the complex nature of cancer and worked tirelessly to provide optimal care and support to his patients.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Zulfaqar was known for his exceptional character. He was a friend to everyone he encountered, fostering a sense of warmth and camaraderie within the community. Despite his achievements and reputation, he remained humble and approachable, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
Dr. Zulfaqar’s commitment to his patients was unwavering. He consistently put their needs first, ensuring they received the best possible treatment and care. Even while battling his own cancer, he continued to provide clinical services, never allowing his personal struggles to compromise his dedication to his patients.
The loss of Dr. Zulfaqar has deeply affected the oncology community. His absence is felt not only in the medical field but also among the countless lives he touched through his compassionate approach. However, his legacy lives on, inspiring his colleagues to continue the pursuit of excellence in cancer care and to uphold the values he embodied.
