Professor Wee Joo Chng will be appointed as Vice-President in the Office of the Deputy President. – NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine
NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, announced the following on LinkedIn:
“Professor Wee Joo Chng will be appointed as Vice-President (Biomedical Sciences Research) in the Office of the Deputy President (Research and Technology) from 1 September 2023.
A Professor in Medical Oncology and an esteemed researcher in the fields of genomics, therapeutics and haematologic malignancies, Prof Chng has a wealth of experience spanning clinical practice, administration, and leadership. His impactful research has won him numerous national and global accolades.
He is currently Vice-Dean of research at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS Medicine), as well as Senior Principal Investigator at the NUS Cancer Science Institute of Singapore. Prof Chng has been a Senior Consultant at the National University Hospital for over two decades, and is currently the Director of the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) as well as Group Director of Research at the National University Health System.
In his role as Vice-President (Biomedical Sciences Research), Prof Chng will spearhead and develop the University’s biomedical-related research, as well as drive strategic collaborations with academic institutes, hospitals and industrial partners.
