No improvement in NHS England waiting times for cancer diagnosis in June – Gordon Wishart
As Gordon Wishart, Chief Medical Officer at Check4Cancer, stated on LinkedIn:
“No improvement in NHS England waiting times for cancer diagnosis in June, with only 80.5% of urgent referrals seen within 2 weeks (vs 80.8% in May). The main block to optimal cancer care still at treatment end of pathway, with only 59.2% starting their first cancer treatment within 62 days of urgent referral, and only 62.2% of patients with screen-detected cancer (breast, cervical or bowel) starting treatment within 62 days.”
