Ruben Mesa: UT Health San Antonio, the city of San Antonio academic medicine lost a phenomenal leader, a cancer warrior, a visionary for health equity, William L. Henrich
Ruben Mesa, President of Atrium Health, shared on LinkedIn:
“UT Health San Antonio, the city of San Antonio, The University of Texas System, and academic medicine lost a phenomenal leader, a cancer warrior, a visionary for health equity, and a dear friend today with the passing of William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP. Bill was one of the most extraordinary leaders, a passionate advocate for his communities, an exceptional mentor, an articulate orator, and one of the dearest friends I have ever met. The battle against cancer was advanced because of his leadership in building UT Health San Antonio Mays Cancer Center, his passionate drive to establish the UT Health San Antonio Specialty Hospital, and his 15-year presidency of the key academic medical institution of South Texas. Bill will be missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and in the impact of his leadership and labors.”
