Pleased to be at ESMO Breast 2023, catching up with colleagues and a very proud of my former teams!
They brought our original clinical research that now is showing mature results. It is so nice to see that South America could be playing in the big league of clinical trials! Their abstracts are amongst the extremely high level abstracts being presented in the here and it feels incredible to see it!
For some background, I’ve been intensely involved in both Ph2 clinical trials behind me, for which I have given my heart and soul (frequently going beyond hours after clinic!) to the design, conduction and analysis of both Zonantax (where we tested zoledronic acid in the neoadjuvant setting of her2-positive disease – led by Dr Crocamo in collaboration with Abdelhay Lab NCI-Brazil) and Mega (where we evaluated the estrogen modulation by progestin hormonal therapy – led by Dr Bines NCI-Brazil in collaboration with Carrol Lab CRUK-Cambridge), back in time during my training as a medical oncologist and consultant at NCI-Brazil.
A huge thanks for the patients and what an exciting time for being in oncology!
