“Did you know that every 80 seconds, a child is diagnosed with cancer in the world?
Did you know that 44% of children with cancer are never diagnosed?
Did you know that children with cancer in low-income countries can be up to ten times more likely to die?
That is why today I am with conviction in this global campaign of Childhood Cancer International and International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP, to make visible this disease and the profound impact it has on so many families.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to reflect, raise awareness, and reinforce our commitment to continue working so that every child can survive and live with the best possible quality of life after cancer.
