The Global Voices in Renal Oncology (VIRO) Virtual Congress, organized by OncoDaily, will be held on September 11–12, 2025. Chaired by Dr. Rana R. As Co-Chair of VIRO, Dr. Rana McKay (University of California, San Diego) opened the congress with her talk on
 “Future Directions: Emerging Agents and Combinations.”

She emphasized the momentum in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) research, highlighting how novel immunotherapies, targeted drugs, and rational combination strategies are reshaping patient care. Dr. McKay underscored the importance of personalized, biomarker-driven approaches and global collaboration, aiming to optimize survival and quality of life worldwide.

Dr. Padraic O’Malley is a recognized expert in urologic oncology with a strong focus on optimizing management strategies for patients with localized kidney tumors. His clinical work and research emphasize balancing oncologic control with quality of life through tailored treatment approaches.

At the Global Voices in Renal Oncology (VIRO) Virtual Congress 2025, Dr. O’Malley will present on Active Surveillance: Patient Selection and Protocols” as part of the Small Renal Masses and Focal Approaches session. His talk will highlight evidence-based strategies for identifying appropriate candidates for surveillance and developing safe, structured monitoring protocols.
