Catharine Young: The Power Patient Advocacy
Catharine Young, Senior Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, shared a post on X:
“Today is National Patient Advocacy Day.
Patient advocates are often a parent who has endured the most unbearable loss, a family member who has watched a loved one suffer, or a patient determined that no one else should go through what they have.
We owe so much to these advocates who work day and night to drive change.
They are the reason for increased funding, new policies, programs, and awareness. Yet they also carry the greatest burden of pain and suffering themselves.
There is no greater power than turning pain into advocacy. Their courage is what lights the path forward and today we honor them for that.”
