Vinayak Venkataraman: Honored to Join the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon With My Patient Jen
Vinayak Venkataraman, Director of Sarcoma Pathways, Sarcoma Champion, Adult Survivorship Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared a post on X:
“In addition to being a meaningful tribute to our patients and families, and a celebration of our mission-driven work, the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Radio-Telethon is special for me – each year, it falls near my work anniversary.
It feels fitting to have spent part of today LIVE on-air at NESN with my amazing patient, Jen, a young adult facing sarcoma – alongside her loving and supportive family. She’s inspired my team and me with her determination, warmth, and fun-loving (and sports-loving) spirit.
The work remains hard and at times sad; however, it remains incredibly gratifying to meet people (especially young people) at their scariest and most uncertain moments and provide guidance and hope as we carve a path forward together.
I love working with my mission-driven team that cares for all of our patients to our highest standards, and pursuing research to support the physical, emotional, social, and financial health of our sarcoma and AYA survivors – with a focus in promoting exercise + movement.”
