Oya Gilbert’s Story Highlights Urgent Need to Protect NIH Research Funding – AACR
American Association for Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Oya Gilbert was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in late December 2017. His cancer has been under control for 7 years, thanks to research-driven advances in cancer science and medicine. However, future progress against cancer is threatened by the President’s proposed FY2026 budget, which calls for a nearly 40% cut in funding for the NIH.
Please join Oya and his fellow cancer survivors and advocate for lifesaving cancer research. Contact your congressional representatives today and call on them to reject the President’s FY2026 budget and restore NIH investments in cancer research.”
