Support for Nyan, Hope for All Children – World Child Cancer USA

“Nyan is a bright and resilient 7-year-old boy from Kan Swae village in Myanmar, whose family of seven was devastated to learn of his Neuroblastoma cancer diagnosis.
Nyan’s parents quickly shifted from working multiple jobs to becoming full-time caretakers, struggling to balance their family’s basic needs with their son’s treatment to survive. This is an overwhelming and common scenario for families of low-income countries.
Abandoning regular treatment became a real option. But through the vital support of World Child Cancer’s partner hospitals, caregivers, and donors, Nyan’s family was provided housing, transport, and meal assistance to afford the hidden costs of cancer and allow their son to continue healing.
“With the support of friends and loved ones, we found strength. They reminded us that we must be strong for Nyan, so he can live his life happily, with dignity,” – said Nyan’s mother.
