Quoting Vahe Grigoryan’s, Assistant Managing Editor at OncoDaily Medical Journal, post:
“A new article on Colorectal Cancer (CRC) by Erika Ruiz-Garcia et al. has just been published in the OncoDaily Medical Journal.
This article highlights key issues facing Latin America, where CRC is becoming an increasingly urgent public health concern. The region is seeing rising incidence rates, but many cases are diagnosed at advanced stages.
While there is diagnostic infrastructure and trained medical personnel, access to molecular testing and targeted therapies remains limited due to high costs and fragmented healthcare systems.
The article also explores the ethnic diversity in the region, which complicates treatment responses and testing. Moreover, participation in clinical trials, particularly early-phase studies, is low, further restricting therapeutic options.
