Jemma Arakelyan: My PhD Journey Has Reached Its Conclusion
Jemma Arakelyan, Chief Executive Officer at The Institute of Cancer and Crisis (ICC) and Medical Advisor at Immune Oncology Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Whatever has a beginning must also have an end… My PhD journey has reached its conclusion!
These four years weren’t just about the long hours in the lab/library, the mountains of data, or the coffee-fueled writing marathons (though there were plenty of those!). They were a profound exploration of hashtag#anticancerdrugdiscovery, a continuous test of my limits, a lesson in nurturing resilience, and a path that connected me with incredible people.
Huge thanks to my amazing supervisor, Dr. Maria (Masha) Babak, PhD, for her steady hand and guidance (and patience!); my supportive lab mates and fellow researchers; and my family and friends who kept me grounded (and fed!). This doctorate isn’t just my achievement; it’s a mosaic crafted by many hands.
I’m excited to take these hard-earned skills, and move on to the next chapter: applying this knowledge to solve real-world problems.
Onwards!”
