Shrenik Shah: A Silent Promise as the National Patient Ambassador
Shrenik Shah, Patient Ambassador and Moderator of Fridays with Shrenik Live webinar at the Indian Cancer Society, posted on LinkedIn:
“Today marks 1-year of serving as the National Patient Ambassador and Moderator at the Indian Cancer Society – Delhi.
A year ago, I stepped into a new role. Not with a loud voice but with a clear purpose. And what a year it’s been.
Every Friday, I logged into Zoom, not just as a moderator, but as a listener, a connector, a fellow traveler.
35 sessions. 35 Fridays. We called it ‘Fridays with Shrenik’—a space for stories, science, and support.
Here’s what made this year unforgettable:
- 21 Cancer specialists, 1 Mental health wellness Counselor, 1 Dietitian, 1 SLP joined us—leading oncologists who generously simplified complex treatments and gave hope where fear once lived.
- A dietitian who reminded us that food can heal more than hunger.
- A speech-language pathologist (SLP) who spoke not just of therapy, but of dignity, expression, and reclaiming one’s voice.
- And perhaps most moving, survivors and caregivers who shared their lived truths. Some still fighting. Some looking back. All holding space for each other.
We laughed. We learned.
Behind every session was a silent promise: that no patient should feel alone, no question should go unanswered, and no story should go unheard.
This year wasn’t just about awareness. It was about belonging. To every guest, viewer, supporter, and teammate, thank you.
A special thanks to these amazing people who made it easier for things to go smoothly: Priya Parmar, Col Ajai Tomar, Renuka Prasad, Jytosna Govil (Chairperson, ICS).
For letting me use my metaphorical voice, when my natural one was taken years ago. The journey continues. And so does the mission. Here’s to many more Fridays, many more stories and many more lives touched.
PS: I’ve started a new series – Thrilling Life After Cancer under Fridays with Shrenik – AZ Survivors Stories. We’ve completed 2 inspiring sessions already, and many more are coming up.”
