The ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ is a nickname used by President Trump to describe a major healthcare reform – especially plans to repeal and replace Obamacare (ACA). But what would it actually do? Let’s break it down.
Fewer rules, more state control
The bill would reduce federal regulations and give more power to states. Sounds good – but it could mean different protections depending on where you live.Medicaid cuts:
It aimed to cap federal Medicaid spending. That means less funding for states — possibly forcing them to cut services or tighten eligibility.No more insurance mandate
Removing the rule that everyone must have insurance could sound like freedom — but it could also mean higher premiums for those who stay insured (mostly older/sicker people).Preexisting condition protections at risk
