Debyani Chakravarty: Expanding the utility of precision oncology knowledge bases
Debyani Chakravarty, Associate Member in Molecular Geneticist, Dept of Pathology and Lab Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Precision oncology knowledge bases are a mainstay for clinical cancer care, assigning therapeutic actionability options to somatic genomic biomarkers identified by patient tumor sequencing. Newer diagnostics and the expanded utility of molecular biomarkers will necessitate expanding these knowledge bases beyond individual mutations to include patient-specific clinical attributes for continued clinical relevance.
Do check out our Comment on what the next generation of precision oncology knowledge bases may aim to include. I was very lucky to partner writing this piece with OncoKB Senior Scientist Sarah Suehnholz. Big thanks and shoutout to Nature Portfolio Nature Review Cancer Editor Daniela Senft for working with us.”
