New Global Data Highlights How Lung Cancer is Changing Across Europe – Lung Cancer Europe
Lung Cancer Europe shared a post on LinkedIn:
“New global data (June 2025) highlights how lung cancer is changing across Europe.
– In France, incidence in women is rising by +5.8% per year
– In Norway, mortality in women is rising by +3.6% per year
– Adenocarcinoma is increasing across sexes
– Squamous and small-cell cancers are rising in women in several European countries
– 2030 projections show the highest rates forecast for Netherlands and Northern IrelandThese shifts reflect both long-term tobacco trends and emerging factors, including the rise of adenocarcinoma.
Europe’s prevention, screening, research and policy frameworks need to adapt. Early detection, cross-border data and access to care remain critical.”
