Catherine Alix-Panabières Highlights Launch of CIRCLE Consortium for Pediatric Cancer Research
Catherine Alix-Panabières, Professor of Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montpellier, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thanks to the support of the National Cancer Institute, the CIRCLE consortium was created to advance pediatric cancer research.
Led by Prof. Marlène Pasquet, haematologist and paediatric oncologist at the Toulouse University Hospital, this regional consortium led by the GCS IUCT-Oncopole of Toulouse brings together the main research and care centres of Toulouse, Bordeaux and Montpellier.
Scientific coordination is provided by Prof. Catherine Alix-Panabières (CHU de Montpellier, Liquid Biopsy LCCRH Lab – Laboratoire Cellules Circulantes Rares Humaines ), Drs. Bastien Gerby, Ph.D, HDR (CNRS CRCT, Toulouse) and Sebastien lamy (IUCT-Oncopole and CERPOP Inserm).
CIRCLE combines the expertise of 26 research teams with pediatric oncology-hematology and radiation oncology care teams to accelerate the transition from basic research to clinical applications.
Thank you to all the teams of this magnificent consortium!
Integrated programmes tackle crucial issues…
1- Understanding and overcoming resistance to treatments
Coordinated by Dr Fabienne Meggetto (CRCT, Inserm Toulouse ) and Prof. Nicolas Sirvent (CHU de Montpellier ):
- Study of tumor resistance mechanisms (cellular, microenvironment, epigenetics, metabolism)
- Integration of radiomics and multi-omics data to predict response to treatments
- Development of a paediatric biobank and a signature of liquid biopsy
2- Improving the quality of life after cancer
Coordinated by Prof. Anne Laprie and Dr. Sebastien Lamy (IUCT-Oncopole, Inserm CERPOP)
- Comprehensive approach to rehabilitation: physical, neurocognitive, social, metabolic
- Analysis of microbiota, exercise, and socio-economic inequalities
- Participatory research with children and their families
United to defeat childhood cancer and better support the aftermath!”
