Emily McGovern: That’s a Wrap On The Inaugural Rural Oncology Conference

“And that’s a wrap on the inaugural Rural Oncology Conference!
Just 4 years ago, a rural oncology conference was just a pipe dream, but with the help of some wonderful and passionate people, we did it! HUGE shoutout to this years ROCK planning committee for making this first event seem like we’ve been doing it forever
This weekends conference was inspiring, humbling, and so much more… Hosting some talented speakers and physicians from University of Kansas Medical Center including a telemedicine pioneer – Dr. Gary Doolittle – we shared powerful conversations in telemedicine in rural cancer care, how to be an advocate, and workforce solutions.
We were able to connect with representatives from 23 states on problems and solutions to rural oncology care, and left with new friends and mentors alike!
We can’t wait to do this again, but in the mean time as Wade Swenson says – ‘Thank you for being here.'”
