Union for International Cancer Control Highlights Global Need for Expanded Lung Cancer Screening Access
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Early detection of lung cancer is critical in improving survival rates, particularly through low-dose CT scans for high-risk groups. Yet, many countries still lack accessible screening programmes.
UICC’s Lung Cancer Collaboration (LCC) works to double the five-year survival rate by 2030, focusing on prevention, early detection, and treatment. UICC members, like the International Cancer Institute in Kenya, are leading efforts to implement screening in low-resource settings.
Expanding access to screening globally, especially in high-burden populations, is key to saving lives and reducing lung cancer mortality.”
