Katie Coleman Launches Cancer Screening and Risk Assessment App Hackathon

Katie Coleman, President of Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance (COA) and Founder of OncoLogic Solutions, shared a post on X:

“My husband and I are both software engineers and each year we do a hackathon for my birthday where we build tools for those affected by cancer or in the oncology space- then open source them. Our next one is coming up next month. Any suggestions on what you’d like to see built?
Hackathon is next week – last call for suggestions.”

Don Roth, Canadian advocate for national firefighter early cancer screening, shared this post, adding:

Thanks for taking this on, major. One suggestion is a cancer screening reminder application. This would allow people to enter their State, Province, along with their age, gender. The app would then remind them about respective cancer screening programs available, and reminders regular checks (skin).”

Katie Coleman responded to Don Roth’s comment:

“In search of cancer risk assessment and screening tools. We have decided on this project for our hackathon. Will include standard guidelines but also integrate risk assessment tools. Breast, Lung, Colon, Prostate, Cervical, Skin + others – any assessment tools you recommend?”
