George Vlachogiannis: A Retrospective Analysis of 314 Patients Who Underwent Ovarian Cancer Surgery

George Vlachogiannis, Managing Editor – Cancer Control at Sage, shared on LinkedIn:

Intraoperative blood transfusions and prolonged hospital stays (>3 days) were significantly associated with reduced survival following surgical debulking for ovarian cancer.

Transfusion-sparing strategies and enhanced recovery protocols should be actively considered by the surgical and perioperative teams for improving long-term survival outcomes in gynecologic oncology.”
